Application
- Xylene is a good solvent for gums, waxes, pithes and many natural and synthetic resins. It is used as a solvent and diluents in paint, enamels lacquers and varnishes. It is also employed in printing inks and adhesives, and is most important solvent for insecticodes. Chemical intermediate uses of Xylene, in the mixed form, are few, the most important being for the production of certain synthetic detergents and colours.
